This is a greatest hit collection for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It includes songs from their 1991 breakthrough album Blood Sugar Sex Magik through their 2002 album By The Way.

There are two versions of this album. There is the Greatest Hits music-only release available on CD, 120g vinyl and iTunes, and the Greatest Hits & Videos. The later is only available on CD and includes a bonus DVD that includes music videos the band released from the above mentioned albums. The CD+DVD version was released in both the US and the UK.

Dave Navarro appears with the band on My Friends, and in the music videos for My Friends and Aeroplane from his tenure with the band for their One Hot Minute album.
