The following clip was posted at janesaddiction.com earlier today. The clip directed by Todd Newman, features live footage from the band’s recent trip to South America. In between the live footage are shots of the band working in the studio on the tentatively titled disc The Great Escape Artist. One thing that really caught my attention as I watched the clip was the history of the mixing desk the band appears to be using. I don’t want to give it away but you can watch the clip and see for yourself.
Jane’s Addiction have been busy writing new music this spring and late last month they entered the studio to begin recording. While we’re still a ways off from hearing the new music we can at least have a peek at the process.

There have been tweets and facebook posting keeping us up to date on the writing process since Jane’s Addiction began work on new material earlier this year. Dave mentioned on his Dark Matter show last night that the band were in the studio yesterday working on pre-production and that no tape rolled. Today however Dave tweeted the following:

Remember when we told you that the band was taping their performance at The Bardot? Well, they were kind enough to pass this along to us to share with all of you. Official HD live footage of Jane’s Addiction performing Ain’t No Right, live at their Cinco de Mayo show at The Bardot in Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA. Check it out:
