Bud Dry alternative summer promotion sends listeners to the 21st Reading Festival in United Kingdom
DATELINE: ST. LOUIS

Bud Dry, the alternative beer for the '90s, is sponsoring a consumer radio promotion that promises to be as hot as summer itself.

The nation's largest selling dry beer will send radio listeners in several key markets to the 21st Annual Reading Festival in Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom. The Festival runs from August 27 through 29, and is the forerunner to the popular Lollapalooza music festival that has toured the U.S. for the last several years.

This year's Reading line up includes New Order, Porno For Pyro's, Therapy, Souixsie And The Banshees, and Rage Against The Machine, among others.

The Bud Dry Alternative Summer Radio promotion will be conducted in mid July with alternative music format stations in the following markets: Boston; New York; Philadelphia; Atlanta; Washington, D.C.; Bloomington, Ind.; Denver; Phoenix; San Diego; Oklahoma City; New Orleans; Tulsa and St. Louis.

Listeners will be able to phone into the various participating radio stations to enter the contest and win daily prizes, consisting of Bud Dry merchandise and CDs. A grand prize winner, along with a guest and two on-air personalities in each market, will win a trip to the Reading Festival.

The three-day festival held alongside the River Thames, approximately 40-miles outside London, attracts more than 50,000 people each year. Last year more than 94 acts performed, including chart-toppers Public Enemy, EMF, The Charlatans and Nirvana.

Bud Dry, the dry beer with the alternative taste, is brewed by Anheuser-Busch, Inc., the world's largest brewer.
