According to the pages 103-104 of the book Saga of a Hypster, and the October 20, 1987 issue of Rolling Stone Jane's opened for the Psychedelic Furs at this show.

Just an FYI, I was browsing your very informative site when I came across a listing for a show I was at that is labelled "unconfirmed." It's the Arlington Theater show where Jane's opened for the Psychedelic Furs.
Well, my brother and I went to that show. Apparently JA was a last-minute replacement act for another band that was originally scheduled to open (The Cult? memory is fuzzy). I'm sad to say that I was rather unimpressed by JA. Perry spent part of the show laying down on stage, as I recall, and the band did not seem to be into the gig at all. I was told that the show was intended as a showcase for major labels to check out JA, but I don't know if that's true. Anyway, hope this helps.

We've confirmed this date has happened, and have two published reports that Jane's opened (albeit, one being "Saga of a Hypster"). If Jane's were a late fill-in as Bill says, this may be the closest we'll ever get to a full-on confirmation. I guess consider this "confirmed light".
