Deadicated: A Tribute to the Grateful Dead is a compilation released on April 23, 1991 by BMG/Arista. This tribute album to the band The Grateful Dead contains number of covers by notable bands. Jane’s Addiction contributes their cover of The Dead’s Ripple as the compilation’s closer.
The liner notes contain the following tongue-in-cheek quote from Eric Avery about the song Ripple:
This song meant a lot to me when I was too young (but trying) to grow facial hair, smoking too much pot and contemplating teen suicide. Before the glory of punk rock, I was a Grateful Dead fanatic but don’t tell anyone… it might be detrimental to my image.”
Alternate Versions:
This album was released on CD and cassette in the United States, and on CD, cassette and double 12″ vinyl in Europe.
