Very Little Daylight

Very Little Daylight is a song by Dave Navarro, it was originally part of the Rhimorse demos, but then later became a song for Spread with Chad Smith. It was finally released as part of Dave’s solo album Trust No One.

Lyrics

Rhimorse / Unicorns & Rainbows version:

I can take a friend to a meeting
I can take a trip to the dentist
I can turn to a woman to hurt me
I can turn to my family to leave me

How many books should I read?
How many more will there be?
Be?
Be?

I can stay at the dentist forever
I can look at my gold card and smile

How many books should I read?
How many more will there be?
Be?
Be?

Follow me home
Follow me home
Follow me home
Follow me home

I can take a friend to a meeting
I can stay at the dentist forever
I can turn to a woman to hurt me
I can turn to a woman to hurt me

How many more will there be?
How many more will there be?
Be?
Be?

Trust No One version:

I always knew that the secrets could hurt me
I never knew it was yours that would kill me
I never tried to be yours to take care of
You never said you were mine to beware of
How many more will there be?

I only feel alone when I’m with you
Learning to pray
I could never be all that you want me to
I fall away

How many more will there be?

I’d never wish myself upon you
But I cut myself trying not to
If you can’t share yourself with me
You’re the person I thought that you would be

Another moment of silence without you
Barely alive
I figured out that I meant nothing to you
Bury me high
