Them is a song by Psi Com.
From the liner notes of Worktape 1
With its title inspired by the ’50s SF movie classic involving giant mutant ants in L.A., this song is about sinister transfiguration. Humans make themselves prone to metamorphosis of every variety. Them is a warning against the most familiar ages of change: violence and greed.
Lyrics
These lyrics are as they appear in Worktape 1, typos included:
From a crack in black to a red halation
Running to the West there’s a life
Coming out of his head
He is a dove…
Killer to a copper legal desecrator
Hand at his hip-sling looking for a pigeon of clay
He is a joke
I am a man
I am a woman
I am a dog
See the dog running
I am an insect…
From a misanthropist to a money mummer
Rives his hand and regenerates a golden calf
He is a hole
On the pinnate plains hear the insects roar
The flies enprenzied over bodies and the maggots prattle
“We are posterity”
I am a man
I am a woman
I am a dog
See the dog running
I am an insect…
