Martyn LeNoble opts out of 2024 Porno for Pyros Tour

Last night, Martyn LeNoble announced on Instagram that he will not be a part of the upcoming 2024 tour dates for Porno For Pyros.

“In 1992, as we were forming the band, the city was on fire and we reflected everything that was happening in our city, in the world, and in our own personal lives. You can hear that in our music on the first album.

I’m so excited for the world to hear “Agua” and the other unreleased material from our recent sessions. There is a real connection between these new songs and how we’ve grown. We’ve mended our friendships and recorded these songs with love. I think you will hear that in the recordings.

I’ve changed. I like quiet and nature. With that being said, I will be following my passion for wildlife and will not be part of the upcoming tour. I wish my brothers Perry, Pete and Stephen the best. I’m truly grateful for every moment I spent with them. Most importantly, thank you to all of you for all of the amazing support and memories.” – Martyn LeNoble

New Porno for Pyros track “Agua” due out on Nov 16

According to Spin, Porno for Pyros will release their first new track since 1997, titled ‘Agua’ on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Porno For Pyros Ready ‘Agua,’ First New Song In 26 Years

Porno for Pyros

After postponing their reunion tour so they could finish new music, Porno for Pyros has set a Nov. 16 release date for “Agua,” its first fresh song in 26 years. The track features the band’s original lineup, which, in addition to singer Perry Farrell, includes drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Peter DiStefano, and bassist Martyn LeNoble. “Agua” will also appear on a new EP arriving in February.

In a statement, Porno for Pyros says that “Agua” was inspired by their inspired close encounters with dolphins and reflects their contemporary environmental concerns. “Now we’re here, and that same heart, that same desire to make music together, has returned,” Farrell says. “Getting together with these guys has been some of the most fun, the happiest times in my life”

Porno for Pyros hasn’t released new music since 1997’s “Hard Charger,” which was included on the soundtrack to the Howard Stern film Private Parts. The group has released two albums to date: its self-titled 1993 debut, featuring the hit “Pets,” and 1996’s Good God’s Urge.

Porno for Pyros played its first full set since 1998 in May 2022 at the Welcome to Rockville festival at Daytona Motor Speedway in Daytona, Fla. The band filled in as a short-notice replacement for Jane’s Addiction, who canceled due to what it said was guitarist Dave Navarro’s “long bout with COVID.”

Porno for Pyros tour postponed to 2024

According to a post on Porno For Pyros official Instagram account, the band has decided to postpone their upcoming Horns, Thorns en Halos tour to “a few months from now”. No new dates have been announced. Existing dates are starting to show up as canceled on Ticketmaster.  The band’s post is below, and a transcript of the text follows.

Petrons, We are beyond thankful for all of your support these last 30 years, and are anxious to celebrate our 30th anniversary with you. Whilst rehearsing for our first tour in 25 years, we’ve also been in the studio creating new music – that we were hoping to get to you in time for these shows.

Unfortunately, we have had to move the dates for the upcoming tour as we were not able to begin our campaign in time. So, we’ve pushed the tour a few months from now, in order for everyone to hear and appreciate the new material that is finally finished.

Listen up for the new music in the upcoming weeks and keep an eye out for new tour dates. We’re coming!

Jane’s Addiction releases statement about Dave & 2023 tour dates

Jane’s Addiction have released a statement on whom will be performing guitar on the upcoming tour dates later this year. Unfortunately Dave Navarro will not be talking part of the currently announced tour dates. Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, whom played with the guys on some of the dates of the Spirits on Fire tour in 2022, will be stepping in to play with the band.

The statement the band release is as follows:
Band Statement

We’d like to address the questions surrounding Dave and the upcoming

Jane’s shows. As a band we are in a great place, writing new music, and the bond is tighter than ever. We all hope Dave can be out playing with us; when he feels healthy and ready.

For the near future, our brother Josh Klinghoffer will jump in for the upcoming shows on the West Coast, South America and some additional international shows to be announced soon. We want to thank you for being there with us over these thirty some odd odd years. You know, we’re going to keep throwing down for you.

Jane’s Addiction announce 5 US shows in March

Jane’s Addiction have announced five shows in March in the US ahead of their trio of performances at the South American Lollapalooza festivals. Tickets for these new shoes go on sale later this week. No official word on the lineup just yet. I’ll update this post as soon as there is confirmation.

Update: It appears the poster (see below) has reversed the dates for the two Nevada shows. Both the Ticketmaster pages and event pages for The Cosmopolitan and the Grand Sierra Resort have the Reno date as 3/11 and the Vegas date as 3/12.
