Jane’s Addiction Announces July 2nd Hollywood Show

Jane’s Addiction announced tonight that they will be performing at a special show for the fans on July 2nd in Hollywood. We’ll pass along venue details and ticket info as soon as we can.

Dave Navarro posted the following on his 6767 site:

We in Jane’s Addiction have done several intimate LA shows over the past year or so… Little places with 100 or so tickets set aside for the fans. It was tough for a lot of fans to get in even after waiting all day for entry. With all of our friends and family in LA, it’s sometimes hard to accommodate everybody. Well it looks like we are doing another show and we have decided to make this show an event that is mainly for the fans. We are going to strip back the guest list, inviting only our immediate loved ones and let the majority of tickets be made available to the people who have given us so much over the years, the fans.

This show will be in Hollywood on July 2. Ticket information will be made available soon.

Cinco de Mayo Jane’s Addiction Style (Pt. 1)

This is part 1 in a 4 part article series about our trip out to L.A. to see Jane’s Addiction.  We’re posting one part per day over the next four days.

How do two guys who live near the Great Lakes get out to Los Angeles to see Jane’s Addiction?  By going to North Carolina of course!  Well, that’s at least what Mike and I did.  We met up at the airport in Charlotte, NC for our flight to LAX.  Thanks to a little bit of seat switching, Mike and I were able to sit together.  We were both groggy from lack of sleep, but we were excited at what the day would bring.   We had five and a half hours to talk Jane’s and make our plans for our two-day adventure in L.A.  Of course not all our plans would work out, but neither of us is complaining.  This was the start of an amazing journey.

Jane’s Addiction at Guitar Center in 3D

Thursday evening, Jane’s Addiction recorded an appearance for the upcoming TV series Guitar Center Sessions, a high-definition 3D television series for DirecTV.  This included the band performing a handful of songs and doing a Q&A with the show’s host.  The band discussed their roots, their past break ups, the addition of Duff McKagan, writing new songs, and much more.   The live performances included semi-acoustic versions of Ain’t No Right, Been Caught Stealing, Jane Says, and the introduction of a new song titled Broken People.  If that weren’t enough, after the band finished playing Been Caught Stealing, Dave asked Perry “do you remember this one…” and broke into the classic song City, which Perry joined right in on.  This marks the first time since 1988 that the guys performed this song.

This session was an extremely intimate performance in front of approximately 30 people, and to our own amazement, included JanesAddiction.org’s own Mike and myself .  After the performance, we were able to watch the playback in 3D, which was truly amazing.  We’re not sure when this episode will air, but as soon as we know, we will let you know.
