Jane’s Addiction canceled their appearance at the “Not So Silent Night” in Oakland at the last minute due to Steve Perkins’ father’s illness. Green Day stepped up to replace them. This obviously put tonight’s show in Universal City into question. However according to this post on twitter by Dave Navarro, the band is still planning on performing:

The following clip was posted at janesaddiction.com earlier today. The clip directed by Todd Newman, features live footage from the band’s recent trip to South America. In between the live footage are shots of the band working in the studio on the tentatively titled disc The Great Escape Artist. One thing that really caught my attention as I watched the clip was the history of the mixing desk the band appears to be using. I don’t want to give it away but you can watch the clip and see for yourself.

Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins has a new two-disc DVD coming out later this month. The DVD titled Hands, Feet, Mind, and Soul features instruction on how to play eleven Jane’s Addiction classics. Tracks included are: Trip Away, Whores, Pigs In Zen, 1%, Ted, Just Admit It…, Stop!, Mountain Song, Been Caught Stealing, Idiots Rule, Had A Dad, and Ain’t No Right. The DVD has a running time of over three hours and will be available to order on the Drum Channel site. Checkout the preview below.

Mike and I were introduced to the guy who runs The Bardot, a nice guy who gets us some free drinks. He mentions that he wants to help get the hardcore Jane’s fans into the VIP section right up by the stage and mentions the possibility of us getting to pull a few fans that we know into the VIP section. Unfortunately that didn’t pan out, and I am guessing it was in the end due to the VIP section being pretty full with the regular guests. We’d really hoped to get Barton in there with us, as he is pretty much as old school of a Jane’s fan as you can get. He was still able to secure a spot right up by Duff.
