First Public Performance of The Re-tooled Jane’s Addiction

Last night at Perry Farrell’s fifty-first Birthday celebration a re-tooled Jane’s Addiction took the stage with bassist Duff McKagan. The show at Les Deux marks the first public performance by the band since Duff entered the fray.

I’m uncertain of the set or set time but the band definitely played a cover of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love. Dave Navarro wanting the proper tone I presume, can be seen playing a Les Paul in the following photos.

Thanks go out to Todd Newman for tweeting these pics.

Jane’s planning on something in Austin next week?

Dave just posted the following on his twitter feed:

Be sure to sign up at JA.com_ Especially if you are in Texas on the 19th_Watch the site over the weekend for details http://bit.ly/nzUBC

Sounds like there is a possibility of another show before the NIN/JA tour kicks off.  Perry was already scheduled to be in Austin next weekend for a performance on March 21st at Pangaea for the SXSW festival.  Lots of people have wondered if that performance could turn into a Jane’s gig.

Eric Avery Blog

Eric Avery wrote out a blog over on janesaddiction.com that essentially outlines what to expect from Jane’s over the coming months, and what the big picture is they are trying to accomplish. Quick and dirty summary: Lollapalooza 2009, Jane’s Addiction and Nine Inch Nails. If all goes well, we might see some new Jane’s material in the future, with Trent and his guys on board to helm the production angle. Exciting times. As always, when I get some solid show dates, I’ll post them.
